30 Minutes to Self-awareness

I recently wrote a post on about how important it is to be self-aware. Read it here! I wrote about how self-awareness plays a huge role in your success in your career, your relationships, and your personal happiness. It’s something we should work on throughout our entire lives through a variety of different methods and techniques. However, to ease you into things, I’ve curated a mini list with a couple of my favorite personality tests to get you started on this lifelong pursuit.

You might be surprised by the accuracy.

You might learn a few new things.

You might get hooked.

Levo Talents:

Ever get stumped on the “What is your biggest weakness/strength” question in an interview? Levo Talents can help with that. After downloading the app, you will be taken through 35 questions. At the end you receive your top 8 talents.

Talents include: Believing, Connection, Creating Intimacy, Get to Action, Goal Setting, Love of Learning, Making Order, Thinking Ahead, Adapting, Collecting, Enrolling, Equalizing, Feeling for others, Fixing it, Focusing, Having Confidence, Humor, Including, Innovation, Loving Ideas, Mentoring, Optimism, Particularize, Peacemaking, Precision, Reliability, Seeking Excellence, Standing out, Storytelling, Strategy, Taking charge, Thinking alone, Thinking back, Thinking logically, Wanting to win

Those talents then fall into one of four quadrants: Analytic, Innovative, Procedural, or Relational

Once you’ve gotten your results you can click into each of your talents and get advice on “Where you’ll succeed” and “What to work on” as well as recommended reading from levo.com based on your Talents. Take it one step further and share and compare with your friends/coworkers/future employers/mom or whomever you so please.

You can download Thinking Talents in the App Store

16 Personalities:

This personality test is rooted in two classic psychology philosophies by Carl Gustav Jung and Katharine Cook Briggs. It was created under the assumption that we all have specific preferences in the way we see our experiences, and these preferences underlie our interests, needs, values, and motivation.

After answered a series of 60 questions using a 6-point scale ranging from Agree to Disagree, a type will generate based on five personality aspects:

Mind – Introverted (I) or Extroverted (E)

How we interact with our surroundings

Energy – Observant (S) or Intuitive (N)

How we see the world and process information

Nature – Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)

How we make decisions and how we deal with our emotions

Tactics – Judging (J) or Prospecting (P)

Our approach to work, planning and decision-making

Identity Assertive (-A) or Turblent (-T)

Our confidence in our abilities and decisions

Their method is extremely well thought out and groups your type into even more specified groups and strategies. At the conclusion of your quiz, you are provided with reading material based on your personality including a summary, strengths and weaknesses, romantic relationships, friendships, parenthood, career paths, and workplace habits.

The 5 Love Languages:

Based on a book by author, Gary Chapman, this quiz assesses how you best communicate and receive love. This can mean family love, relationship love, friend love, LOVE IS LOVE

Chapman identifies 5 different ways that people communicate love (coined love languages): Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. The quiz gives several scenarios and asks you to choose an answer to finish the sentence: “It’s more meaningful for me when”. At the end of the quiz, you receive your scores and ranking. Languages are scored on a 12 point scale. The closer the score is to 12, the more meaningful that love language is. The five love languages are then ranked in order based on your scores.

That’s all for now…I hope you learn something new about yourself!

If you have any more quizzes you love, please tell me about them. And if you loved these, please tell me about it, I’d love to hear from you! (words of affirmation)
